AMD will meet in 2010 to enrich the product range they have. Call it some processor servers, notebooks, or the graphics card that will be launched next year. It also applies to their desktop platform named Dragon. Dragon Platform is a combination of several products owned by AMD, ranging from processors, chipsets and motherboards to graphic cards.

AMD Dragon processor consists of the AMD Phenom II paired with a motherboard powered by AMD 790FX chipset, and enriched with graphics card ATI Radeon HD 4870 or ATI Radeon HD 4890. Well, a combination which is claimed to satisfy the thirst of gamers will be replaced with a new platform named Leo.

“Next year, the Dragon platform will be replaced with a new platform that has better performance, namely Leo platform,” said Tan See Ghee, Marketing Director of AMD South Asia. Leo also has a combination of several products that AMD would launch in 2010, namely, the processor code named Thuban which has 6 cores with socket AM3 and motherboard with RD890 and SB850 chipset and Cypress or Hemlock graphics card.

See Ghee also added that the new platform will be very powerful when running the game Direct-X 11 based. “With that combination, the user will get a great experience when playing games that have support Direct-X 11, such as DiRT 2 for example,” he said.
