Nokia has recently released a mobile phone that is at the top of their handset range when it comes to the camera, and opens up new possibilities for their popular N series.
The N86 offers a unique AF assist light with autofocus function and the most important addition of an 8 megapixel camera. Examining in depth the camera’s features shows a lens that is 28mm wide and has in built VGA video recording and geo tagging capabilities with a helpful time lapse feature.
Whereas the Nokia N96 offered dual sliding capabilities, this feature has also been implemented in the new N86, with dedicated buttons available for music and games on one side and a number pad on the other.
When purchasing a new N86, users will also be allocated 3 months free voice guided navigation with the A-GPS function which can be used for easier navigation whilst driving or just walking in the street.
The N series also offers N-gage support allowing for handy access to Nokia games. A function that is unique to the Nokia N86 when it comes to playing said games or viewing movies is the kickstand which is a tiny stand that folds out behind the phone and elevates it for practicality when watching multimedia.
Coupled with the faster Symbian operating system and 8GB of internal memory for ample storage, the N86 is available in both white and standard black and will come to market with the intention of helping Nokia catch up with competitive camera phone models such as Sony Ericsson’s W995 and Samsung’s Tocco Ultra.
