Intel Corp. plan to begin the transition to 32 nanometer production technology faster than the previous schedule. Intel want to promote an aggressive processor with the name of Clarkdale in the fourth quarter 2009 with direct sell large quantities in about one quarter more quickly.

Intel will start selling microprocessor dual core 32 nanometer with 4MB of cache, Hyper-Threading, the dual channel memory controller DDR3 and integrated graphics core for mainstream desktop computers. Clarkdale is a processor based on Westmere microarchitecture.

Clarkdale processors have memory controllers, graphics core, and also the PCI Express interconnect in it, so the system that utilizes this processor does not need GMCH or commonly name as the Northbridge chip on the motherboard. Thus, the processor will be directly connected to the chip platform hub controller (PCH) Intel 5 series (Ibexpeak) that contain hard disk controller, network, physical interface, PCI, and other input/output devices.

Even though the graphics core that is used in Clarkdale still 45 nanometer technology, according to some analysts, the speed transition step be quite aggressive and can point to the high number product failure of 32 nanometer processors. But Intel has not been given an authorized comment about this.
