Appearance of the ultra-portable notebook looks similar to the full notebook. But the two types of technology used by both devices are very different. Unfortunately, there are many users who do not know the difference between performance and ability of notebook and netbook. From research that was conducted by NPD Group, this is the reason why more than 30 percent netbook owner disappointed with the device they have purchased.
According to data obtained by NPD, 60 percent of users who bought a netbook assumed that their netbook has the same functionality with the notebook. One of the interesting aspects of buying a netbook is portability. These features are used as the key for producers to sell their netbook and consumers also recognize that portability is a feature which is very useful. However, from the survey also revealed that upon arrival at home, 60 percent of users said that they never bring their netbook to the outdoors.
Manufacturers and sellers should not focus on the same PC ability and other features that can convince consumers that the netbook is a notebook replacement. They should be campaigning for more about the mobility, portability, and the need for a PC when doing tasks in order to users are not disappointed with the options that they have bought.
